used cocoon strippings to create a thin silk layer, onto which
were placed pressed flowers, skeleton leaves, threads, etc.
This was then sprayed with colours. After ironing to
create the silk sheet, sometimes incorporating sinemay, texture
was added with throwsters waste, metal flakes, ribbon etc.
Rubber mouldings were also used to create texture and
pattern. Everyone enjoyed the day and we are looking
forward to Sarah's new book on the subject which will be out in
November.
