CONNECTIONS AND NETWORKS with Jan Beaney

1st and 2nd October 2005    WEEKEND WORKSHOP AT WALLSWORTH HALL

We created beautiful coloured and textured surfaces inspired by nature or manmade artefacts. A simple grid on soluble fabric forms the base for hand stitching.

The following pictures are of the workshop which was thoroughly enjoyed by eighteen lucky members of the Cotswold Branch and Friends of Nature in Art.

Jan demonstrating machine embroidery on Solusheet cold water dissolvable fabric and holding a sample of finished work.

Hand stitching on the same fabric.

Some photographs of Jan Beaney's wonderful work.

A welcome coffee break!   Then heads down to stitch.

And the work in progress at the end of day two.

A vote of thanks was given by Jan Evans and a pot of flowers presented by Sonia Bocchi.

Some of the stewards who have kindly given so much of their time to make the exhibition so successful: Janet Stott and Barbara Mears. Margaret Richards having a welcome break.

A very big thank you to all those involved in planning, making and exhibiting, before and during the exhibition, especially the Cotswold Branch Committee and Simon Trapnell and his staff at Nature In Art. I am sure members will agree we have had a very enjoyable and successful 2005 40th Anniversary Birthday Celebration.
